Market access

Following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, UK insurers and intermediaries will no longer be able to rely on passporting rights to access to European markets. Similarly, EEA insurers and intermediaries will no longer be able to rely on passporting rights to access the UK.  This section explains that without the appropriate regulatory permissions UK intermediaries might no longer be able to place certain European risks with capacity providers.  Whether authorisation might be required in relation to any given jurisdiction is likely depend on the location of the risk, the residence of the customer and the place where the ‘activity’ is conducted.
